How does diet and exercise improve our lives?

Hello and welcome to the Be A Fuckng lion Podcast. My name is MJ and I seek to inspire, help, and teach you how to dominate your life; mind, body, and health in order to live your best life possible, go after your fucking dreams, and live a life of good health, happiness’ and freedom.

Today I want to talk about your health overall because to become healthy, is the solution to becoming the best version of yourself. If your body and your mind perform at it’s best, you will improve in every other area of your life. It is proven that when you feel better and are happier, you are able to focus better, be more productive, earn more money, have more positive and healthy relationships, and live a longer and healthier life.

I often hear people say they have no energy. Yet, they are eating like shit, not exercising, and not doing anything about it. One thing I tell my coaching clients is, when you start eating healthier and throw in a little exercise, you won’t see the physical benefits right away but you will feel the mental benefits the first week. You will have more energy, your cravings will disappear, you will be happier and since you have more energy, you will get more shit done. This is proven and it works on everybody. When you have more energy you are more motivated and confident and this alone will unlock the doors and improve so many other areas in your life. Perhaps you are sttruggling getting the exercise in, but did you know the foods we eat has a huge affect on our moods? So you can totally start by eating healthier and you will reap the mental benefits. Good nutrition significantly affects our mental health. A healthy diet helps us think clearly, improves concentration and attention span, and gives us more energy. Conversely, a poor diet gives us fatigue, impaired decision making, and can lead to aggravation, stress, and depression.

The best way to repair your diet is to cut out processed foods. Processed foods are high in fours and sugars and this is what trains you brain for cravings. When you start eliminating these foods, you will start to change the physiology in your brain and stop craving unhealthy foods. This is because a lot of the processed foods we eat are highly addictive and stimulate the dopamine centers in our brain, which are associated with pleasure and reward.

Sugar and processed foods can also lead to inflammation throughout the body and brain, which contributes to mood disorders, including anxiety and depression. I am not a doctor but I personally feel, if doctors would prescribe a healthy diet and exercise, they would be far less people on this planet being diagnosed with mental disorders they probably do not actually have. But there’s too much money in big Pharma so they want people to stay dependent on medications. And unfortunately, people want the fast solutions that they don’t have to work for. I ask though, is medication a solution?

I call it a band-aid.

Now let’s talk about exercise.

Exercise is known to release endorphins,  and dopamine, also known as the “Feel-Good hormones. These are important neurotransmitters that are released throughout your nervous system. Endorphins block pain and increase sensations of pleasure, and exercise increases your endorphin levels. And dopamine plays an important role in how you feel pleasure.  It is also responsible for regulating your heart rate, your sleep cycle, mood, attention, motivation, working memory, learning, and pain processing. Exercise also promotes neuroplasticity, which is the ability of your brain and nervous system to change their activity in response to internal or external stimuli. BasIcally, this plays a huge role in learning new skills, activities and languages.

So now can you see HOW just about everything in our life is related to our diet and physical health? Our brain is a very complex organ, but it controls our thoughts, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, breathing, temperature, hunger and every single process that regulates our body. If you do not feed your brain properly, how can you expect to function properly as a human?

I can go on and on.

If you have ever studied millionaires or highly successful people, they share many of the same traits and habits. They are healthy eaters, they exercise, they don’t watch TV, they are always learning, and they prioritize self-improvement. When you start eating healthy and exercising, it’s like the dominos effect. One door opens another door that leads to greater things. You will keep searching and opening doors in your life which will lead to an ENTIRE life transformation. And if you are just starting on your health journey, you may not be able to see this right now. But I promise you as long as you stay consistent and keep going, these doors will open for you too. I always say, the mental benefits far outweigh the physical benefits. The physical benefits of working out and eating right is just a bug bonus.

So many great things has happened in my life since I started my self-help journey. I am a better human, a better mother, a better friend, and I have created the most happy and peaceful life for myself. II still have some things to work on, as this is a journey I will be on for the rest of my life. I have walked through many doors that lead me to who I am today and where I am ,and I look forward to all of the future opportunities that haven’t came yet. My journey started with a quest to find happiness and then exercise and eating healthy came later. Most importantly, I discovered my true calling which is this. I am an a mission to help as many people as possible have a total life transformation. Whether  you are on a mission to find happiness, you want to make more money, be healthier, lose weight, or discover your purpose, I seek to help you in all those areas of your life. I’m not just another fitness person trying to make money by getting popular on instagram and selling you supplements and workout plans. I have dedicated the last eleven years to my own self-development journey and continue to do so. I have completely turned my once very horrific life around, I beat depression without medication, I succeeded when most people thought I would fail (and rightfully so), and I have conquered my own demons and pain. This all would not have been possible without feeding my mind right. It is a combination of what I read, what I listen to, who I associate with, what I watch, what I eat, and how I move that I credit who I am today to and the life I am creating. I am absolutely very mindful and cautious of every decision I make today. Our decisions shape our lives. And guess where decisions are made? Yep, our brains. The largest lobe of the brain, the frontal lobe, is responsible for decision making.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to get your diet right and start exercising. You don’t have to conquer everything at once either. This is how people fail. People fail when they don’t set realistic expectations  and they try to do everything at once. It is way too overwhelming. Just start somewhere and build upon it. Keep it simple at first. As you go, you will pick up speed. This is a life transformation, not just a health transformation. This is a mission you should be on for the rest of your life. I promise you, there are so many great things in store for you in your future that you cannot see right now. But I promise you, if you keep going on your transformation journey, you will experience great things and open more doors and live the life you dream of.
